Scale, context, and usability, and program were presented as irrelevancies to the design, and were not to be taken into consideration. Because I had so little information about the architecture, I began to design with the natural biological logic of the Fibonacci Sequence.
I used the numerical growth pattern as an input for the duplication rules on a very simple NURBS curve. This duplication process transformed the geometric primitive into a submodule resembling the form of a naturally found shell.
Using the same duplication rules, I aggregated the submodule and created a larger module. This module also begins to resemble a naturally found biological form while also beginning to enclose and define a space.
What began as a curve became a surface, then a space.
